Gifted and Talented Education

WUSD offers a differentiated curriculum, responsive to the needs, interests, and abilities of gifted students.

At the elementary school level, classroom teachers provide greater depth and breadth for students who exceed core curriculum standards.

At the middle school English, history, math, and science teachers differentiate instruction for students.

A wide variety of other options are available to the gifted/talented student in grades 6-8 with a menu of elective courses offering students the opportunity to take art, Project Lead the Way, concert and symphonic band, drama, and Spanish.

At both elementary and middle school levels GATE identified students have the chance to participate in enrichment programs beyond the bell through STAR Education involving students in project based learning activities.
