Interdistrict Attendance Permit Agreement
Student Expectations and Parent Requirements
Wiseburn Unified School District is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and academically rigorous learning environment for all students. Students attending on an interdistrict permit are held to the same high standards as resident students and must meet all behavioral, academic, and attendance expectations.
We value our partnership with families and ask that you review the following expectations and requirements to ensure continued eligibility for your child's interdistrict transfer permit.
Permit Revocation Guidelines
The district may revoke a student's interdistrict transfer permit at any time if any of the following are met:
- If the student is recommended for expulsion pursuant to Education Code 48918. (Education Code 48309);
- If the information on the permit application and/or the enrollment packet is falsified or misrepresented;
- If the student has excessive tardiness or absence (as defined by the school handbook);
- As a result of a serious/ongoing infraction of school rules and regulations (as defined by the school handbook);
- and Severe overcrowding and/or staffing shortages within District programming.
Student Expectations
Students attending Wiseburn schools on a permit are expected to:
- Demonstrate respectful, responsible behavior in the classroom, on the playground, and during all school-related activities.
- Follow all school rules, including those outlined in the school’s discipline plan and handbook.
- Dress in a clean, neat, and school-appropriate manner. Refer to the site’s dress code for guidance.
- Complete all assignments and homework on time and maintain at least a “C” average.
- Attend school every day unless ill, and arrive on time.
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
Parents/guardians of students attending Wiseburn on an interdistrict permit are expected to:
- Ensure daily, on-time attendance unless your child is truly too sick to attend. Excessive absences or tardiness may result in permit revocation.
- Pick up your child—or arrange for someone to do so—immediately after school. The District does not provide supervision before or after school hours.
- Provide daily transportation to and from school.
- Cooperate with school staff in addressing discipline or behavioral issues. Reinforce school expectations and positive behavior at home.
- Maintain regular communication with teachers and/or school administrators regarding your child’s academic and behavioral progress.
- Model respectful conduct toward all students, staff, and families. Adults play an essential role in building a positive school culture.
We appreciate your interest in Wiseburn Unified School District and your commitment to meeting the expectations and responsibilities outlined above. By submitting an interdistrict permit application, you acknowledge and agree to these terms. We look forward to the possibility of partnering with your family to support your child’s educational journey.
