• Temporary FP Location: FUTURES Plus will temporarily operate from the Da Vinci Schools high school campus located at 201 N Douglas St, El Segundo, CA 90245. Arrival/dismissal will be the same protocol as students followed in high school.
• Important safety considerations:
  • Drop-off: Do not wait until your vehicle reaches the end of any lane to drop off your student. Once your vehicle has come to a full, safe stop, have your student exit the vehicle and use the nearest crosswalks to reach the main building
  • Off-site Drop-off and Pick-up: If you are not using the 201 Lot, please locate a safe and legal alternative. Do not drop-off or pick-up your student on any streets (El Segundo Blvd., Douglas St., Mariposa Ave, etc.) at any time. It is extremely dangerous and can also result in a moving violation ticket.
  • Respecting Our Neighbors: Do not use the parking lots of local businesses such as Starbucks, 7/11, Farmer Boys, Raising Cane's Chicken, Beach Cities Montessori, Millennium, and Elevon, solely for the purpose of picking up and dropping off your student.
  • Da Vinci Safety Team: Our Safety Officers (blue shirts) and Grounds Supervisors (orange vests) are your #1 safety resource. Please follow their directions at all times.
• Student Arrival: Students will enter at the location designated on the map above. Our FUTURES Plus aide and teacher will be there to greet students and walk to the classroom together to begin class at 9:00 AM.
• Student Dismissal: Students will exit from the same doors that they entered in the morning. For the first week, students will exit at 12:00 PM. Starting the second week of school beginning September 2, students will exit according to the regular school calendar and dismissal times.

Students may bring cellphones to school, but phones must remain in their backpacks during school hours (9:00 a.m. – dismissal bell) and should be turned off or on silent mode. Cell phones may not be turned on during the school day.

Breakfast and Lunch Programs

Both breakfast and lunch are available to all students at no cost to families. Please click here for information on menu options. Our gates will open each morning at 8:20 a.m. If your student has any food allergies, please be sure that you include this information in your registration form responses and that you notify your student’s teachers.

Dietary Restrictions

Parents should explain this information when filling out their student's health information in PowerSchool. This information is then provided to our health clerk, who shares with our teachers as needed. Parents are always encouraged to contact their teachers and our health office directly with any changes or updates.

Incoming Requirements

Immunizations

By law, children in California are required to receive certain immunizations in order to attend public and private elementary and secondary schools. Schools are required to enforce immunization requirements, maintain immunization records of all children enrolled, and submit reports. To find out more about which immunizations are required for your child to attend school, please go here. 

Please contact our health clerk, Lena Richard (lrichard@wiseburn.org) for any questions related to immunization requirements, updates, and/or forms. Proof of immunization / updated immunization records may be dropped off at the main office for our health clerk during normal school hours.

TDAP REQUIREMENT FOR 7TH GRADERS

As we approach the start of school, it is imperative that all incoming 7th grade students have their Tdap vaccination. This is a state requirement and proof must be provided prior to the start of the year. Families may stop by the front office to provide proof or email Lena Richard (health clerk) at lrichard@wiseburn.org. The Tdap can be provided by primary care doctors, clinics, and local Walgreens and CVS locations. Students missing their Tdap vaccination are unable to attend classes, which we want to avoid for all of our Dolphins.

Medications

California Education Code, Section 49423 allows designated school personnel to assist pupils required to take prescription medication or over-the-counter medication during the school day. Medications must be taken directly to the Health Office.

A Medical Authorization Form giving permission to administer medication during the school day must be signed by the physician and be on file in the health office. Students may not carry medication on their person unless it is authorized by their physician (i.e. inhaler). Medical Authorization Forms are available in the school office and must be completed each school year. Any individual student medical needs should be brought to the attention of the health office staff.
