After a year spent distance learning, we're excited to reopen our campuses! Some TK-5 students will be returning for in-person instruction, while others will remain in distance learning. In this newsletter, we've compiled resources for all students and families to understand and adjust to our new schedules and hybrid instruction.
Hybrid Reopening Video for Families
In this video, Superintendent Blake Silvers walks students and parents/caretakers through a typical school day on campus in hybrid instruction. Watch it as a family to be sure students are ready for their first day back.
Dana Middle School prepares for reopening as the number of COVID-19 cases continue to decrease in Los Angeles County. By health order, we cannot physically reopen our middle school for in-person learning until the State reaches the Red Tier in the Blueprint for a Safer Economy.
Our best projection to date is that the County will reach the metrics very soon. The Dana Middle School team has worked diligently to prepare for a potential opening, but we also await the changes to the current health order and how that may impact cohort size, classroom capacity, and other items. We are looking forward to the return of our middle schoolers, and will continue to keep our families updated.

The CARE Team and WUSD school psychologists have teamed together to create a notebook of resources to help address social emotional concerns related to school transitions. The notebook aims to help promote school engagement, self-care, healthy mental health, and the development of social-emotional skills.

Update on Preschool Enrichment Program
Right At School will soon be operating our before and after school childcare programs. However, our general education preschool enrichment program will continue to be run and operated by Wiseburn. With our move to the Del Aire campus and delays due to COVID-19, we expect to be operational and fully licensed by June of 2021. In the event we are able to open sooner, we will provide further information.
