Learning Recovery Opportunity Program
Helping Students Stay on Track While Absent
What is the Learning Recovery Opportunity Program (LROP)?
The Learning Recovery Opportunity Program (LROP) allows students to receive instruction and attendance credit for missed school days when they complete assigned work. This is made possible by California’s updated education laws under Education Code Section 51747.
How Does It Work?
- Students who participate in LROP can receive attendance credit from one day to a maximum of 15 missed school days during the school year, with credit given only for days where the student completes the assigned work.
- Participation in LROP does NOT change your child’s school enrollment—they will remain in their current school.
- To be eligible, families must complete and sign the LROP Agreement in SchoolMint. Signing this agreement allows students to receive instructional materials and attendance credit for days missed (i.e., illness, grief/loss, anticipated absences).
- Once the student is enrolled in LROP, they will be eligible to complete assigned work for missed days through the District’s learning platform, SchoolsPLP.
- In addition to the instructional materials in SchoolsPLP, teachers may/might assign additional work that is directly related to class/subject assignments or assessments. The timeline for this work will be determined by the teacher.
Why Sign Up?
-
Ensures your child stays engaged in learning even when absent.
-
Helps the school recover funding for missed days, supporting instructional resources.
-
Provides flexibility and support for students who need to miss school.
